# AAIFF — Astana AI Film Festival 2026

AAIFF (Astana AI Film Festival) is a new, independent festival for filmmakers
whose work is co-created with AI: generative video, neural-assisted editing,
AI-native scripts, synthetic performances, experimental diffusion pipelines.
The festival accepts finished works of any length and any language
(English subtitles required). Submissions are free for the inaugural 2026
edition. Curators and jury select an official shortlist; winners are announced
at a closing ceremony in Astana.

## Competition structure

The festival has two sections, with a combined prize fund of $1,000,000:

1. **Main Section — Thematic Competition** — films created around the annual
   theme. Awards: Grand Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize.
2. **Open Section — Open Competition** — open to films of any theme or
   approach. Works that have been shown or submitted elsewhere may also be
   considered. Awards across Best Character, Best Direction, Best Visual,
   Best Story, Best Concept.

## How to submit

Submissions go through the festival site only — no external platforms,
no packets, no platform logins. A filmmaker uploads the finished work to
YouTube (public or unlisted, ≥1080p, original title + credits in description),
pastes the link into the form at https://aaiff.ai/#submit, picks a section,
and receives a reference number by email immediately.

AAIFF is a festival, a community, and a distribution channel for AI-native
cinema. Beyond competition, the programme includes a live-nominations

strongest entries in front of producers, platforms and investors.
